A beautiful meeting point between two beloved Alpine styles. Made by Fromagerie Verdannet — the oldest cheesemaker in Haute-Savoie, founded in 1904 — Tomme du Chatelard sits somewhere between a Saint-Nectaire and a Tomme de Savoie. The paste is smooth, semi-soft and creamy with a natural washed rind that brings gentle earthiness. Expect nutty, lightly fruity flavours with a savoury depth that speaks directly to the Alpine pastures where the cows graze.
Most recently awarded a Gold Medal at the Mondial du Fromage 2025. Serve with rye bread and cured ham, or melt it for a French Alpine-style tartine.
