Henskens Rankin is the sparkling wine project of winemaker Frieda Henskens, dedicated entirely to small-production Tasmanian sparkling. Drawing on mature vineyards across the island and extended lees ageing, the wines combine Tasmania’s natural freshness with depth, texture and remarkable complexity.
The 2015 Vintage Brut blends Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Huon Valley and Tasman Peninsula, spending seven years on lees before disgorgement. Lemon, crisp apple and white peach are layered with roasted hazelnut, marzipan and delicate brioche, while a fine bead and bright acidity bring precision and energy. Rich and beautifully developed yet still remarkably fresh, it finishes long, chalky and mineral.
